PREVENTION OF QUARTZ WATCHES

As a general rule, a quartz watch requires complete maintenance every 3–6 years. The following procedure is performed to ensure accuracy and long-lasting performance.

Preliminary operations

1. Removing the strap or bracelet
2. Opening the case
3. Diagnosing the movement
4. Checking all functions of the mechanism
5. Determining the required service steps

Case and bracelet operations

6. Complete disassembly of the case
7. Ultrasonic cleaning of the case and bracelet
8. Replacement of all gaskets

Movement operations

9. Partial disassembly of the movement (removal of dial and hands)
10. Setting time and date
11. Battery replacement
12. Functional testing of the mechanism
13. Complete reassembly of the case

Quality control

14. Water-resistance test according to the model specifications
15. Setting time and date
16. Final performance check of all functions
17. Inspection of the bracelet/strap and replacing spring bars if needed
18. Checking the clasp
19. Final overall inspection
