WEARING YOUR WATCH IN COLD WEATHER

When wearing a watch in cold weather, it is important to keep it as close to your body temperature as possible. Low temperatures affect the lubrication inside the mechanism — at around 0°C (32°F) and below, the oils begin to thicken or harden, which may cause inaccurate timekeeping or mechanical damage.

If you stay outside in the cold for a longer period, keep the watch under your sleeve. Sudden temperature change from cold to a warm indoor environment can cause condensation under the glass. Allow the watch to warm up gradually without using its functions or opening it.

Protecting the mechanism from extreme temperatures extends its lifespan and ensures reliable performance during the winter months.
