SUN & HEAT DAMAGE PREVENTION

EXPOSURE TO STRONG SUNLIGHT AND HIGH TEMPERATURES

We recommend avoiding direct exposure of your watch to intense sunlight, especially during the summer months. When left under strong sun, the case and crystal can reach temperatures of around 60°C (140°F), which may cause damage to the movement.

High temperatures may result in:

  • softening or deterioration of lubricants inside the movement;
  • overheating of electronic components;
  • damage or fading of luminous materials;
  • discoloration of the dial;
  • drying, stiffening or cracking of leather straps.

Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light may cause fading or color changes on:

  • leather straps;
  • the dial surface;
  • plastic parts and decorative coatings.

SAUNA AND STEAM BATH – STRICTLY NOT RECOMMENDED

Do not wear your watch in a sauna or steam bath. High temperature combined with humidity is extremely harmful and can cause serious internal and external damage.

In such environments, the following may occur:

  • plastic components may deform or melt;
  • rubber gaskets may expand, harden or tear, allowing moisture to enter;
  • the movement, display or electronic parts may overheat;
  • water resistance may be compromised – it is not guaranteed in sauna conditions.

To keep your watch in excellent condition, avoid long exposure to strong sunlight and never wear it in a sauna or steam bath.
